Dr. Biman Kanti Ray is presently posted as the Professor of Neuromedicine at Bangur Institute of Neurosciences (BIN) and Institute of Post-Graduate Medical Education and Research (IPGMER), Kolkata, India. He is a graduate from Medical College, Kolkata and has done his post-graduation and post-doctoral degrees from IPGMER. Currently he is heading the Stroke Clinic of BIN and IPGMER, the largest tertiary care hospital of Eastern India. He has been pro-active for the promotion of Neuro-intervention and under his tutelage, many students have been inducted into stroke research and have been encouraged to pursue neuro-interventional studies. He is serving as the Principal Investigator of ICMR-conducted Multicentric trials on Stroke Management. He is a passionate teacher with over 60 national and international globally-acclaimed research publications. The book, ‘Clinical Approach to Bedside Neurology’ authored by him has garnered wide appreciation among postgraduate and postdoctoral students of Neurology. A renowned clinical neuroscientist in his field, he is now working towards implementing Stroke Telemedicine Services and the development of a stroke network throughout his state. He is faculty in charge of the Multiple Sclerosis Clinic of BIN and IPGMER.
