Dr. R. Sureshkumar is a senior consultant neurologist at the Renai Medicity Multispeciality super specialty hospital, Palarivattom P.O, Kochi, Kerala. He was the former professor of the department of neurology, Amrita Institute of Medical Sciences (AIMS), Kochi, and was a faculty there for 18 years. He is one of the pioneers in the field of Multiple Sclerosis in the country and set up one of the earliest and largest multidisciplinary Multiple Sclerosis Clinics in India, he also treats other demyelinating disorders like ADEM, NMOSD, and MOG antibody-related diseases. He has many publications in national and international journals and has also written book chapters. Currently, he holds the position of the President, Cochin Neurological Society, and has been a past treasurer of the Kerala Association of Neurologists. He has won many awards and recognitions prominent among them being the Dr. Eapen Samuel Memorial Award 2012-2013 for the best research paper awarded by IMA AMS, Kerala chapter and he is the only Indian to deliver a talk at the prestigious European Charcot Foundation Symposium.
